. Attorney Neil Bhartia felt compelled to want to help veterans when he learned about the mission at Veterans Legal Institute. Recently, one of VLI’s Army veteran clients was overwhelmed with old credit card debt, preventing her from moving forward financially. She struggled to keep her head above water barely making minimum payments and compacted further by Covid. Attorney Bhartia took on the case pro-bono and eliminated all of the veterans’ debts in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, filed in Los Angeles. The client was thrilled at how painless and quick the process was, and she can now look forward to rebuilding her financial future, without the burdens of debt.
